The Shrimp Cocktail or Coctel de Camarones, is a Peruvian dish traditional from the sourthern of Peru. It is made in Arequipa Region, in main cities of this department. This dish is not only from Peru. There are many countries en Latin America, than they made cocktails too. One of popular on USA is Mexican Shrimp Cocktail, but others rich taste cockails are “Coctel de Camarones Colombiano”, the “Coctel de Camarones Cubano” and many others.
Peruvian Coctel de camarones – Shrimp Cocktail Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 kg shrimp
- 4 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tsp orange juice
- 2 tsp pisco
- 6 leaf of lettuce
- 2 avocado in dices
- salt
- 4 boiled eggs in 4 pieces
Instructions
- At first, you will make the golf sauce by making a homemade mayonnaise to which we add a whole of ketchup, drops of Worcestershire sauce, drops of orange juice and drops of pisco.
- Now you cook shrimp in their shell only for a couple of minutes and then peel them and season them with salt.
- After that, you cut an avocado into small pieces, cut hard-boiled eggs in and cut lettuce into julienne strips.
- At last, you put everything in layers in a glass, beginign with lettuce, avocado, golf sauce, and pieces of cut shimp tails, then put the shrimp tails around the glass border
